How it works
A first week with OwnMynd.
You versus you. Not a test. The website is enough. The Chrome tool is optional.
1. Create an account
Sign up with email and a password. If we ask you to confirm the email, open that link, then sign in. The first screen can take up to a minute while the scoring server wakes up. That is normal.
You must be 13 or older. Creating an account means you accept Privacy and Terms.
2. Onboarding — get a sense of you
Say which kinds of writing you actually do. Paste two typical samples of at least one type (a few hundred words beats a tweet). Sit one matched check-in — same wording every time we repeat it. Labels (typical, tired, rushed, how much AI) keep a hard week from looking like you changed.
Your writing is analyzed and not stored as text. It is never sent to a chat model.
3. Score new pieces in the same type
On Score writing, paste or drop a .txt / .md file. Pick the same writing type as the baseline. Label AI honestly. After each score you can tap whether the reading felt fair.
Live CVI on the dashboard is a rolling average of eligible samples — not the last paste. Grey chart points were held out (unusual, tired, rushed, unlabeled, or heavy AI). We will not talk about a lasting pattern until you have about four eligible samples in that type and they span more than a week.
4. Optional daily exercise
If a short exercise card appears on the dashboard, skip is fine. Completing it is not a Live CVI sample and is not a creativity grade. We assign at random on purpose so we can later see which exercises actually move scores. They are not aimed at a weak spot. If the card is not there, the website and extension still work.
5. Optional Chrome extension
Install OwnMynd from the Chrome Web Store when the listing is live. Until then, only people helping us test should load an unpacked build.
- Pin OwnMynd in the Chrome toolbar (puzzle piece → pin).
- Open Settings on this site while signed in. Click Connect Chrome extension.
- On a normal page (not OwnMynd), click the toolbar icon. A bubble appears. Click it to open the panel.
- Highlight writing, or paste into the box if the highlight is empty (common in Google Docs). Score. The panel does not read the page until you open it.
Signing in on the website is not the same as Connect. If the extension still asks, use Reconnect on Settings.
